The Irish actor loved being a boxer as a teenager and won Irish Youth Championship. He gave boxing up when he was 17 because of a brief blackout he had after one of the fights. He also had a penchant for teaching and attended St. Mary’s Teaching College for that.(source)

Jim also worked 8-hour shifts to help his family which took a toll on his performance at school and his grades and his morale. Oprah experienced a lot of molestation by her cousin, uncle and a family friend. Her grandmother was also abusive and would beat her with a stick if she did not do her chores or did anything wrong.
