It’s true. There is only one pig in Afghanistan, and its name is Khanzir. He is 14 years old and lives in Kabul Zoo. The reason behind Khanzir being the only pig in Afghanistan is that Afghanistan like most Islamic nations believe eating pork is considered such a sin that even touching them is forbidden.

But Khanzir hadn’t always been a lonely pig. He was sent from China in 2002 as a piglet along with a female pig. They both mated and even had a litter of piglets. But in 2006, a caretaker left the nearby bear’s cage open and one of the bears managed to enter the pig enclosure. It killed all its piglets and gravely injured the female who later died due to the injury. So, Khanzir is left all alone now.(source)

The US scientists have calculated that diamond rain could be a very common phenomenon on Saturn and Jupiter. It is estimated that diamonds as big as one centimeter in diameter is falling on these planets regularly. Consequently, about 1,000 tons of diamonds are fallen on Saturn every year.

Lightning storms on the surface of these planets convert methane into soot (carbon). The soot hardens when it falls, and it forms chunks of graphite. Eventually, it turns into chunks of diamond due to the extreme temperature and pressure. The diamonds then rain on the surface of these planets and finally melt into the liquid sea of the planet’s super-hot core.(source)
